The group is poised for significant scaling. We are seeking an exceptional Managing Director to lead this charge, driving market share growth through strategic initiatives, including business acquisitions, new product development, and international expansion. You will be the architect of the next phase of the group’s evolution, transforming its strong legacy into a future of ambitious growth.
Role Overview
As the Managing Director, you will hold full P&L accountability and be responsible for the strategic, commercial, and operational leadership of the entire group. Your primary focus will be to build a robust growth engine, driving revenue, profitability, and long-term enterprise value. You will balance the precision required for operational excellence with the vision necessary to identify and execute transformative commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy, identifying and capitalising on opportunities for organic growth, new market penetration, and diversification.
Lead the identification, due diligence, and integration of strategic business acquisitions to expand market share, enter new segments, or acquire complementary technologies.
Drive international growth, particularly by leveraging the group’s proven solutions for new geographic markets.
Champion innovation, working with technical teams to develop new product solutions that address emerging market needs, such as energy efficiency, retrofit compatibility, and hybrid systems.
Oversee the commercial strategy, including pricing, sales, and marketing, to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities and effective monetisation of the installed base.
Assume full responsibility for the group’s profit and loss, delivering against ambitious revenue and EBITDA targets.
Lead the annual budgeting and long-range forecasting process, ensuring financial discipline and efficient capital allocation.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance business value, working closely with investors to ensure alignment on key performance indicators.
Provide strategic direction to the manufacturing operations, driving a culture of efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across all production facilities.
Ensure the group’s integrated model (manufacturing, system integration, consultancy) operates seamlessly, delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing senior leadership team. Drive a culture of high performance, accountability, and entrepreneurial spirit throughout the organisation.
Act as the primary point of contact for investors, providing transparent communication, robust reporting, and strategic updates on the group’s performance and growth trajectory.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders, representing the group as a leading voice in the sector.
The Ideal Candidate
You are an inspirational and commercially astute leader with a demonstrable track record of driving significant growth in a manufacturing or engineering-based business. Experience in the heating, renewables, retrofit or building services sector is preferred but not essential.
You possess a strong entrepreneurial drive, with proven experience in scaling businesses via M&A, new market entry, and product innovation.
You demonstrate a high intellect in financial management, with a deep understanding of P&L dynamics, value creation, and strategic financial planning.
You have a solid understanding of the manufacturing industry, including operations, supply chains, and quality assurance. You are comfortable navigating the technical nuances of the group’s diverse product and service portfolio.
You are a proven leader who can build and motivate high-performing teams, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and excellence.
You are a strategic thinker with the ability to translate ambitious business goals into actionable, measurable plans.
Experience in commercial, industrial, or domestic heating markets, with an understanding of related sectors such as construction, facilities management, or energy services.
Proven ability to lead organisational change and drive cultural transformation.
The salary banding advertised is a guideline, the remuneration offered will be commensurate upon experience.
