Lead the procurement function of a major, innovative business in the pharmaceuticals and bio industry as they enter new markets.

Within their field, our clients are well-known as pioneers and innovators, utilising the latest technology, science and processes to produce world-leading pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products. They are heavily involved in global research made possible through advances in scientific equipment, the sourcing of which comes under the role of the Procurement Manager.

As they continue to rapidly expand, they require a strong-willed, commercially astute individual to keep a tight grasp on their complete procurement activities. Ensuring that the best possible goods and services are purchased in a timely, cost-effective manner, you will ensure that your function contributes to the overall success of the business and is aligned with its strategic goals. Managing a small team of buyers based at our client’s London site, along with a number of remotely-based field purchasing staff, you will provide guidance and motivation, demonstrating outstanding communication skills in your dealings internally and externally. You will research new solutions, products and services, both relating to our client’s expertise and general business supplies, ensuring they meet the ethical standards of the company.

Prior experience in procurement is essential, either as a manager or director, and you must be fully versed in all aspects of supply chain, supplier relationship management, logistics and related finance. Educated to degree level or higher, you will report to the MD. In addition to the outstanding £80k salary, a performance related bonus is also part of this vacancy’s package.
