The newly-created General Manager will report directly to the UK Managing Director and will lead and provide mentoring for 15 direct reports and the wider colleague base, joining this FMCG retailer at a time of massive expansion following a recent restructure.
Coming from a background in senior general management and operations, you must possess a good understanding of supply chain and logistics, responsible for our client’s entire portfolio of UK stores and distribution centres.
Ideally educated to MBA level and with experience primarily in a blue chip environment, you will have proven skills in effectively leading a fast-paced retail organisation. A car is provided and the role will involve travel to a number of their UK-wide sites on a weekly basis, along with overnight stays, working closely with each location’s manager and team to maximise its efficiency. You must be an outstanding communicator, able to resolve sometimes quite delicate challenges, logistical issues and business interruption. The face of the brand, the General Manager will also be responsible for ensuring that the stores run compliantly, up to date legislatively, maintaining a good environmental and ethical standing in their communities, and that their staff are motivated, achieving results and proud to work for our client.
