Join a major retailer as they seek to grow their nationwide business through strategic partnerships and new sales channels.
Our client is keen to meet people who are passionate about retail and relish the chance to make an impact on an organisation, boosting its sales and reinforcing its brand image and market share. The ideal candidate will come from a senior retail or sales background, with a thorough understanding of the retail sector, from high street stores to out-of-town retail parks and online/ecommerce.
Our clients are seeking to form strategic partnerships with other complementary retailers, from supermarkets to DIY and garden retailers. As the Business Development Director (BDM) you will play a key role in this, also forming online partnerships to maximise our client’s brand exposure. You will report to the board of directors and be equally comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders from senior managers to staff on the shop floor. Researching, identifying and developing fruitful relationships with new customers, distribution channels, partners and overseas distributors will be your main focus, and you will also be required to liaise with the in-house creative team and our client’s sales representatives, as well as external agencies and other suppliers.
Educated to degree level or higher, ideally with a MBA or a proven track record in sizeable sales deals, the benefits package and salary offered for this role are remarkable and you will be trusted with a great deal of autonomy, the end results being the focus. Remuneration is in the region of £80-90k plus outstanding benefits.
