Lead our Scottish engineering client through a 9-month period of exciting change and expansion, as interim Operations Director.
Leaders in the engineering sector, our clients have long been based in Glasgow. Following a period of rapid expansion and success, relocation to a new site is necessary. At the same time, they are also opening a new engineering site in the south of England, to maximise their logistical efficiency. Reporting to the CEO, you will formulate the plans pertaining to these milestone business changes, ensuring that the timescales, processes and costs are realistic. Our clients require their relocated and new sites to be up-and-running in six months and this interim role will require a significant amount of strong will and sound leadership, and will be well-remunerated at £300 per day.
An exceptional people person, you will be effective at bringing together many stakeholders, from the board of directors and senior managers to external suppliers, managing expectations, deadlines and procedures. In addition to the changes taking place, our clients also need the Operations Director to ensure business continuity, allowing them to continue their activities and provide their services with little or no disruption, retaining their client base as a result.
You will need a good working knowledge of engineering and come from a background in senior management, perhaps as an Operations Director in a previous role. An awareness of legislative and environmental compliance is essential and you will need to successfully engage with the HR department, facilitating a smooth transition for the workforce. This is a unique role unlikely to reappear soon and will prove highly rewarding for the right candidate.
