Executive Recruit have another Part-Time Chairman job vacancy for an Manchester based client – handled by our North West office.

Chairing a major industrial company at an exciting time of growth provides a desirable opportunity for an experienced Chairman.

A major player in the construction industry, our client is widely regarded in the UK industrial sector and has been involved in and connected with many headline building projects that have appeared in the media in recent years.
Following a period of significant and rapid expansion, they are looking to appoint a Chair with immediate effect for 1-2 days a week, to assist the CEO in securing the continued success of the business and acting as the face of the organisation to shareholders, investors and the media.

Liaison between the CEO, board of directors, investors and shareholders, your years of experience as a chairperson or at senior board level will bring an additional layer of stability and support to the business, on a part-time basis. You will be expected to devote fifty days per annum to the role and although you do not need to live in the north west, the CEO and board will require you to be visible at their headquarters on a regular basis.

Ideally possessing a good working knowledge of the industrial, manufacturing and construction sectors, you will act as a sounding board to the CEO, giving them your invaluable insight, opinions and direction, your primary aim being the overall profit of the business and the satisfaction of its shareholders.

You will schedule, chair and report back on constructive and to-the-point board meetings, and ensure that thorough management accounts are regularly produced and that key information is distributed in a timely manner.
Our client is also keen for the incoming Chair to be a visionary and to research, identify and report on potential mergers and acquisitions, as the business looks to expand its operations even further, including the possibility of venturing overseas. Remuneration for this part-time Chair role is at £150-180k pro rata depending on experience.
