Executive Recruit have another Interim Logistics Manager job vacancy for a York based client – handled by our Yorkshire office.

A truly exciting 9 month vacancy at a successful FMCG company in Yorkshire, leading their logistics function as they expand and enter new markets.

This established, traditional FMCG firm has been resilient and seen their loyal customer base grow steadily. Their board has formulated a strategy to embrace online retail and as a result they require a highly experienced logistics manager to join them for a minimum period of 6 months. The main focus of this interim role will be to provide guidance, expertise and hands-on ability in opening up this new sales channel from a logistical perspective, ensuring it integrates successfully with the rest of their operations.

Working closely with a wide range of departments, you will project manage the setup, implementation and effective running of their new online logistics division. Equally important will be ensuring that their traditional wholesale distribution network continues to operate successfully, creating a strong, dual-channel business. Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels, you will assist our clients in identifying and establishing relationships with new freight partners and will create and maintain a best practice ethos around the business. Ensuring that the logistics function is run compliantly, ethically and in line with the company’s overall objectives is also part of this role.

A minimum of 5 years’ previous experience in a senior logistics role is essential, along with a strong working knowledge of and an interest in online retail. Educated to degree level or higher and fully proficient in Microsoft Office, you will bring exceptional written and verbal communication skills to the role. With regular travel required, this interim vacancy with remuneration of £200 per day is a remarkable opportunity, and achieving success for our clients will raise the successful candidate’s profile substantially.
