Executive Recruit have another Interim Director of Public Affairs job vacancy for a Leeds based client – handled by our Yorkshire office.

The unique opportunity to lead our client’s public affairs function for 9-12 months at an exciting time in their organisational development.

Based in the vibrant city of Leeds, our client is a well-known media organisation spanning a variety of formats including online, radio, television and printed publications. They are looking to appoint an interim Director of Public Affairs to expertly guide the function on a temporary basis while they search for the permanent successor.
This role would suit a highly talented public affairs and communications candidate with strong experience of communicating in political environments and with local campaign groups and regulatory bodies. You will report to the Director of Communications and work with our client’s in-house PR and communications teams, along with external agencies.
As Director of Public Affairs you will ensure that their new services are launched responsibly and received positively, balancing internal needs and sentiments with those of external parties. You will have experience of  successfully devising and launching an effective public affairs strategy for an organisation of a similar size, advising on consistent messaging, best practice, tactics and new opportunities.
Candidates must also have proven experience in successfully handling corporate reputation risks, managing programmes of change and effectively managing wide-ranging stakeholders. The successful applicant will start immediately, with regular UK travel required. The position is expected to run for nine months, remunerated at £450 per day.
