Overview
Our client is a leading global shellfish business specialising in the sourcing, processing, and distribution of premium quality shellfish products. With a commitment to sustainability and excellence, they supply wholesalers, supermarkets, restaurants, and other end-users across the UK and Europe.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Sales to lead sales efforts in the UK and Europe. This pivotal role will be accountable for driving revenue growth through the acquisition of new clients and the management of existing accounts. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and executing sales strategy, focusing on expanding market presence and winning supplier contracts with wholesalers, supermarkets, restaurants, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share in the UK and Europe.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship building.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including wholesalers, supermarkets, restaurants, and other end-users.
- Negotiate supplier contracts and pricing agreements to maximize profitability and ensure long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and finance, to optimize sales processes and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and insights to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team, providing coaching, training, and support to drive individual and collective success.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our brand and expand our network.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Shellfish / Seafood sales experience.
- Proven track record of success in B2B sales leadership roles, preferably within the seafood or food industry.
- Extensive experience in selling to wholesalers, supermarkets, restaurants, and other food service providers in the UK and Europe.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, capable of identifying opportunities and driving initiatives to fruition.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, analyse market trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster a culture of collaboration and accountability, and drive performance.
- Willingness to travel as needed within the UK and Europe.
