Sales Director
Base Salary Negotiable £100k – £140k + Car + Bonus + Benefits + Options
Location: (Hybrid Role) South East UK

The Sales Director’s main purpose will be to accelerate the growth of revenues for the PE backed business. It is essential you have significant expertise networking within the utilities, highways or business services infrastructure sectors. (Ideally working closely with local authorities also). The Director will create and deliver sales strategies and play a crucial hands-on role in the success of an organisation. This will involves dealing with sales documents, liaising with senior management to set sales goals for the organisation. The sales director will also develop and implement sales plans and work to generate leads for the business.
Overview
The role will be accountable for growing our internal sales and marketing capabilities, capable of achieving and surpassing our ambitious growth plans. This will be a hands-on leadership role and the individual will form part of the overall business leadership and be accountable for influencing and originating c-level relationship within key clients and markets of interest. Along with the sales and marketing strategies, the role will also be accountable for driving the businesses social media engagement through multiple platforms.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Creating / advancing / executing strategic plans to reach sales targets and expand the customer base.
- Identify and originate client opportunities outside of the current business network.
- Expand growth opportunities within the current client base, either through strategic engagement or network influencing in client.
- Creating strong and effective stakeholder relationships.
- You will be responsible for developing the members operating within the business development team, improve engagement, sales technique and upselling capabilities.
- Target, track, manage, incentivise and reward team members against strong targets.
- Tracking of future pipeline through our bespoke internal system as well as within Salesforce.
- Share with the wider business the future revenue predictions accurately to ensure they can scale the service accordingly.
- Improve our online presence continuously.
- Increase our rate of submission and success of larger tender opportunities.
- Ensure that by working collaboratively our service offerings are reflective of those required by our customer and that they are provided at fair, competitive and profitable price.
- Work closely with marketing to design and implement the organisation’s sales strategy
- Owning and hitting/exceeding annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts.
- Maintaining an effective sales team by recruiting and training employees. This process also includes monitoring, appraising and disciplining members of the team.
- Working with other areas of the business to develop marketing materials and marketing opportunities.
- Understanding the market and trends within it and create effective strategies to capitalise on opportunities.
- Serving as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, trade shows, and expositions.
- Setting up sales projections and budgets.
- Communicating the value proposition of the organisation.
- Finding major clients and forming working relationships with the premier buyers in your industry.
- Oversee and manage a team of Sales and Marketing heads, spanning a wide geographical area.
- Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base.
- Establishing sales objectives by developing forecasts and projecting sales volume.
- Establishing and adjusting the selling price of products and services.
- Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts.
- Implementing sales and marketing platforms to improve the sales performance of the business.
- Ensuring reports and intelligence are available to the sales and marketing teams of the organisation.
- Monitoring the quality of marketing and sales data and making any necessary improvements.
- Forming sales strategies to keep your company competitive and innovative.

- Possess a significant utilities, local authority and service sector network, market challenges and client knowledge.
- Possess an ability to network effectively through key markets.
- Expertise in driving significant sales generation via direct sales, account management teams and via strategic marketing and social media campaigns.

- Highly skilled at producing reports and analysing data.
