Salary: £55,000 – 60,000pa plus benefits.

 

An exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturers who produce APIs for both human and veterinary use has arisen due to continued growth and evolution of the business. This is a permanent role for an experienced Quality Control Manager.

Based in picturesque Kent and operating from modern laboratories and offices the company offer a friendly, professional, and open environment, perfect for fostering innovation and excellence.

Role Overview: As a Quality Control Manager, you will play a crucial role in the laboratory, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. With a demanding yet rewarding set of responsibilities, you will manage the daily operations of the QC laboratory and team. This includes setting priorities according to business needs, performing analytical testing, and supporting the production department with testing schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Safety: Maintain an unwavering commitment to patient safety.
  • Attention to Detail: Perform physical and analytical testing to support manufacturing.
  • GMP Compliance: Adhere to Good Management Practice requirements.
  • Data Verification: Approve and verify testing data generated within the QC laboratory.
  • Housekeeping Standards: Ensure laboratory standards are maintained and documented accurately.
  • Quality Management System: Comply with all aspects of the QMS.
  • Documentation: Write, revise, and approve key quality documentation and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all equipment is suitable for use and undertake troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Coordination: Liaise with the production department, QA department, General Manager, and external contractors.
  • Project Management: Oversee and communicate project activities and statuses regularly.
  • Staff Training: Ensure staff are competent, confident, and well-trained in their roles.
  • Leadership: Coach, lead, and performance manage the QC team to achieve the highest standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3-5 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and excellent communication skills.
